Meeting up with High School friends

Recently i met up with Peggy, Qing Chong, Peijun, Kwun Ying and Dong Mei during my stay in New York City/New Jersey. I must say i miss them alot!!! Esp QC and DM, i haven't seen them for like 6 years!! What we used to take for granted seeing each other everyday in Hwa Chong transformed into half a decade before we can see each other again. So the next time we will meet is probably when we are near 30? the sentimental part of me sets in again.. time moves really fast..

But indeed, this whole stay in the US made me realize how accessible we all are to each other.. Previously i used to think how hard it is to meet them, but seriously, it just takes a flight and in a few hours we can all meet up.. Putting the money issue aside, it is akin to taking a bus in singapore. I don't think i meet up with my friends in Singapore that frequent too.. so is it that sad that we all live so further apart? I'm starting to think not..

More importantly, it is the effort to keep in touch and to initiate conversations.. All these friends meant alot to me cos it made me who i am today.. i promise i will try my best to know what they are up to =)

As for photos, my laptop is still down.. i will have to get back to sg before i can have the time to get everything fixed..

Seeking Balance

Ok, as requested by Paulene Ong.. let me update abit..

no pictures for this one.. haven't been travelling (for one weekend actually.. haha..) cos it is the FINALS week.. i hate exams.. i dont know why i am so stressed even though the grades here don't matter.. hmm actually it does matter abit.. if i am coming back to the States to do grad school, i'm sure they look at my UCLA GPA score, perhaps on the same level as my NUS CAP score.

Or perhaps it is the perfectionism in me which is not letting go.. i know life is imperfect but in my small world, i always try to make it as perfect as possible.. i know.. going against the inevitable, against entropy.. putting in energy.. blah blah.. Why cant we just do the things we like to do? When can i have the time to sit by a coffeehouse and read my favourite book? Why am i even studying?

In fact i was a little distraught a few days back.. i think i haven't accomplished anything much at all. but thanks to Gabriel, he taught me something valuable which made me feel a little better: It is the rarity of the ability to do the things you want to do that made the things you want to do more valuable.

Come to think of it, i was quite slack this quarter and i feel damn slack and i didnt accomplish anything at all. I didnt even go to a coffeehouse to read my favourite book. Thus, it is all about BALANCE! When i go back Singapore, i promise to treat myself better! Nonetheless, the thought of going back to my hellish times (working from 10am to 11pm mon to sat, sat is slightly better - i can get off at 7pm) in the lab is sending chill down my spine. =(

Yay

Yay i just checked that i still have warranty for my laptop! It has a 3 year warranty!! ends on 10 Aug 2007. =p

Laptop SPOILT!!!

=( my laptop monitor has this wierd problem.. after it is switched on for about 30 seconds, it will dim itself so much to the extent that it is like shuting off the monitor manually but you can still see faintly but it is really dark. i can salvage the situation by really switching off the monitor and then switching it on again BUT this only works for about 30 seconds then it is back to the dim state again.. arghhhh.. (i am actually typing this in the dim state of my monitor).. Can anyone tell me or help me research what is the problem? York, Sze Leung, Keng Siang, my twin or whoever with a kind heart!!!! HELP!!

my poor IBM T42 laptop.. it has been with me for almost 3 years with no complaints.. =(
